This year Senior Book Clubers have decided to meet once a month. We have all chosen a book or an author to discuss so we will all try and read these books before the monthly meeting. The member(s) who have chosen that month's book are also in charge of organising the activities or leading the discussion, as well as providing food to share.
All members will bring a cup or mug to the meeting and Mrs M will provide milo.
The schedule of reading is provided here:

MISTER MONDAY by Garth Nix : Chenoa & Lauren
This is the first book in "The Keys to the Kingdom" series. Website for this great series can be found here.
Our first book for this year was Mister Monday by Australian author, Garth Nix. This is a wonderful fantasy novel, the first in of seven books in the “Keys to the Kingdom” series. At our meeting members tackled a fun quiz (created by Chenoa) which certainly tested our memories and we were rewarded with some yummy chocs (thanks Chenoa!). We also discussed the characters and the links between other books.
Everyone enjoyed themselves. We also enjoyed having hot milo (in our favourite cups) and the chips, dip and bikkies provided by Lauren and Chenoa.
Because this meeting was held towards the end of Term 1, just before Easter, we also had a surprise visit from the Easter Bunny.
We then borrowed our book for next month's meeting (and packets of tissues).

the fault is in our stars.jpgTHE FAULT IN OUR STARS by John Green : Claire
Check our John Green's website to find out more about him and his books. If you have some questions for John about this book, or if you want to find out more about his thoughts relating to this book, then why not check out the Q&A page which is devoted to this novel on John's website.

Some members were excited to be talking about John's book - some people were too sad after finishing the book to see the fun!

Or you may like to watch the video of our gathering:

And if you haven't looked at some of his nerdfighting vlogs ... then you really should - just head to his website! You will also find vlogs related to this book, such as the following one where John reads the first chapter:

You can also read a review of this book (and see one of John's vlogs where he speaks about the book) on our library blog here.
